Wondering how to retrieve your First bank BVN?

This article will provide all the details that will help you do that easily.

A little brief on BVN.

Every bank account holder has their own unique BVN which is linked to all the bank accounts owned by that particular person including First bank accounts.

If as a First bank customer you can’t remember your BVN or you want to check your BVN, you can retrieve it in 2 different ways.

Let’s see the 2 ways and the steps involved.

How to Check First Bank BVN using USSD Code

Follow the steps below:

  1. Dial *565*0# on your phone.
  2. Send it through the phone number attached to your First bank account.

You just need to dial the USSD code and then First bank will display all your account details like your bank account name, account balance, and your bank verification number.

This doesn’t come for free, but rather attracts a fee of N20, that is before you use the code, you must ensure that you have at least N20 in your bank account.

Very important: This must be done on the number registered with your bank account.

How to Check your First Bank BVN Online

You can do this without the phone number registered to your account.

You can retrieve your BVN through the First bank mobile banking app. It requires registration and also an internet connection.

  1. Firstly, download your bank mobile app and follow the registration process. After you’re done with the registration, sign in using your mobile banking details.
  2. To check your BVN number, it is written on top of the mobile app or you need to go to account settings and tap on “BVN” to retrieve your bank verification number.

Lastly, if you are not able to use the USSD code or mobile banking app to get your BVN number you can go to any First bank branch to get it.

When you call a  bank customer service representative they will not give you the BVN number because it is very essential in the Nigerian banking system, therefore you need to go to any of their branches to get it.

The bank will request an ID from you and your bank account number, when you give it to them they can then issue your BVN.

Whichever method you decide to use, you will be able to check for your BVN number.
